HERE IS A SAMPLE OF OUR LASER ENGRAVING ON THE SPINE:
With proper care, leather is a durable, natural material that can last for many years.
Occasionally, the surface of the leather may feel dry, much like skin in need of moisture.
To rejuvenate the leather, use a clean, white cloth to gently massage a small amount of Neatsfoot oil or leather conditioner into the surface. (Be sure to remove any items, such as your missal, to avoid damage or staining!)
Then allow the leather to dry flat in a temperature-controlled area of your home.
Repeat this process as needed, depending on the humidity levels in your environment, to keep your leather looking its best.
DURABLE:
- While vinyl is manufactured to look similar to leather, it can wear differently due to its plastic ingredients. Peeling, fading and cracking are common issues in regard to vinyl materials. Leather gets softer and doesn't peel like its plastic counterpart.
FEEL:
- Vinyl can be manufactured to be smooth initially due to its machine processing, alternatively, Leather will always beat out vinyl over time in luxuriousness. While vinyl will wear badly, leather will only get softer and more supple with age.
VALUE:
- While Leather initially can be a more expensive option than the vinyl alternative, over time its longevity and long-term value will only get better. Leather can be restored when it starts to wear, whereas vinyl will never go back to its pre-used condition.
SUSTAINABLE:
- At first glance, vinyl might appear to be the more sustainable choice since no animals are involved in its production. However, the opposite is true - leather is a byproduct of animals already raised for food, which means using it helps prevent waste and keeps it out of landfills.
- Leather is also durable, timeless, and will last many generations when properly cared for.
Unlike vinyl, which often wears out before the end of your lifetime, and cannot be passed down as a lasting legacy.
Ultimately, we aim to craft products that are both luxurious and long-lasting—pieces you can confidently pass down through generations.
